Prince's sudden death at age 57 prompted an unprecedented reaction in Minnesota. It was an outpouring of shock and grief that resulted in impromptu memorials, huge dance parties, and screenings of "Purple Rain," as Minnesotans came together to remember the musician, and what he meant to them together and as individuals.

Minnesota Public Radio's reporters and producers talked to people from far and wide in the days following Prince's death. MPR's Euan Kerr used it to create "Minnesota Remembers Prince."
