Today's Morning Edition music is from 30 years ago today, when "Kiss" by Prince was No. 1 on the Billboard pop chart.

In fact, Prince wrote the top two songs on the chart at the time. His composition "Manic Monday," performed by the Bangles, was No. 2.

"Kiss" is currently back in the Hot 100 again at No. 28. Renewed interest in Prince since his death has returned six of his songs to the top 50 on the pop chart.
