10-year-old hit by stray bullet through wall in Minneapolis
A 10-year-old girl was struck by a stray bullet through a wall on Thursday night and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to Minneapolis police.
Police said the child was hit in the foot while she was inside a home on the 1600 block of Plymouth Avenue North at about 10:20 p.m. The shot apparently was fired from outside.
It was the same block where Jamar Clark was killed in November, and came just a day after and a few blocks away from what police say was a gang-related shooting that killed a man and injured seven other people.
Department spokesperson Scott Seroka said investigators are looking for more witnesses in the child's shooting and have made the case a priority.
The girl was taken to North Memorial hospital.
