Watch out for orange cones and lane closures this weekend if you're on the move in the metro area.

Here's a look at some of the major Twin Cities driving hassles from the Department of Transportation.

Headed outside of the metro? MnDOT also has a handy list of major traffic impacts in Greater Minnesota.

Minnesota Highway 100. At 9 p.m. Friday, crews will begin closing all ramps to southbound Highway 100 between Interstate 394 and Minnesota Highway 62. Southbound Highway 100 will close between I-394 and Highway 62 at 10 p.m. so that crews can repair the road and shoulders. The highway will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday. Northbound Highway 100 will remain open.

Interstate 694. Expect nightly lane closures in both directions of I-694 between Rice Street and Lexington Avenue in the north metro; crews are switching traffic to begin construction on a new third westbound lane on the interstate.

Eastbound traffic will be moved onto bypass lanes but westbound traffic will be moved into two lanes separated by a concrete barrier. That means westbound drivers will need to choose a lane at the beginning of the work zone (see video below). Drivers in the left lane will be unable to exit the interstate between Rice Street and Lexington Avenue. All traffic changes are expected to be completed before Monday and will be in place until late fall.

Bridges over Interstate 35W. The eastbound East Hennepin Avenue, westbound Broadway Street and southbound Johnson Street bridges over the interstate in northeast Minneapolis are closed through late June. Crews are making repairs to extend the life of the bridges and to improve accessibility for pedestrians.

Carver County Highway 61. Closed east of the County Hwy. 61/101 roundabout through May 30.
