Woman dies from injuries sustained crossing street

A 34-year-old St. Paul woman hit by a car while crossing the street last week has died.

HealthPartners confirmed to the St. Paul Pioneer Press on Saturday that Erin Durham died. Durham has suffered severe head trauma in the accident.

Durham attempted to cross Maryland Avenue after putting her son on a school bus in the city's Payne-Phalen neighborhood Monday morning.

Police say the driver of a box truck in one of Maryland Avenue's two westbound lanes stopped and waved Durham across, but a 26-year-old woman continued through the intersection and struck Durham.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
