Sacred Heart church hopes to rebuild after lightning strike, fire Saturday
Members of a church in Sacred Heart are hoping to rebuild after a lightning strike destroyed their historic building.
Hawk Creek Lutheran Church was struck by lightning Saturday morning and caught fire. There were no injuries.
WCCO-TV reports church members were able to salvage some items, such as a decades-old bible and records of church members' names. The fire was stopped before it burned the church's altar.
A fundraising page has been set up to help the church rebuild. One girl told KSTP-TV that she was setting up a lemonade stand to help raise money.
For now, the 100-member congregation will attend church services in a nearby town.
