Today's Morning Edition is from the song "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel.

It was No. 1 in the U.S. 30 years ago.

The song was propelled up the charts in part because of its influential video, which featured claymation and stop-motion video. It won nine MTV Video Music Awards, and is the most played music video in the history of the channel. "Sledgehammer" is Gabriel's only No. 1 hit in the U.S.
