1 arrested in fatal park shooting near Albert Lea

Authorities say one man has been fatally shot at a state park in southern Minnesota and another man is in custody.

The Freeborn County Sheriff's Office and the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating the shooting at Myre-Big Island State Park near Albert Lea.

KTTC-TV reports Sheriff Kurt Freitag says a male called 911 about shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday and said he had shot another man at the park.

Freitag says deputies arrested the caller and found the victim at another location in the park. He had suffered two gunshot wounds to the head.

Authorities haven't released a motive in the case.
