Elderly woman, son likely died a year before bodies found

Authorities say an elderly woman and her adult son likely died more than a year before their bodies were found in their White Bear Lake home. The twin brother of the man found dead Tuesday is being held on possible charges of financially exploiting a vulnerable adult.

Police say the Ramsey County Medical Examiner did not determine an exact cause of death for the 93-year-old woman and her 59-year-old son, but believe the two died of natural causes.

Investigators say that's consistent with what the surviving twin told police. He said his mother and brother died on separate days last year.

Neighbors called police for a welfare check after noticing little activity at the home. They said a vehicle in the driveway hadn't been moved in a week and a-half.
