President Obama a big fan of Leon Bridges
Today's Morning Edition music is from Leon Bridges with "Smooth Sailin'" from his debut album "Coming Home."
The 27-year-old singer will be performing Wednesday night at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis. That show is sold out.
Last month the song appeared on President Obama's summer playlist, which was a big hit on Spotify. Bridges was also invited to perform at the president's 55th birthday party.
Bridges says Obama told him that "he loved how I was able to recreate the sound of soul music but do it in a raw way."
