Shelia E. to perform song about when she met Prince
On Sunday night, Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis will host the Purple Philanthropy Shelia E. Benefit Concert. Longtime Prince collaborator Shelia E. will be joined by percussionist Pete Escovedo and youth performers from Minnesota.
The proceeds will go to a fund administered by the Twin Cities Mobile Jazz Project. Organizations that Prince supported in the past will be able to apply for grant funding to honor his legacy.
One of the songs that Shelia E. will perform is "Girl Meets Boy," which she wrote after Prince died. It tells the story of the first time they met.
