We all know what Halloween is like in the U.S. — it's the night when kids go door-to-door to collect all the candy they can carry.

In other countries, though, this time of year brings much different traditional treats.

Beth Dooley, author of "In Winter's Kitchen," joined All Things Considered host Tom Crann to talk about the many ways foods make their way into the season's celebrations.
