Steve Winter knew from age 7 that he wanted to take photographs for National Geographic. For the last 25 years, he has lived out that dream, shooting wildlife photos all around the globe.

Winter's main focus has been on large cats — from lions to leopards to tigers and jaguars. He will be presenting his philosophy of photojournalism and conservation at a National Geographic Live! event Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul.
