Comedian Jim Gaffigan will add to the Midwest murder and mayhem of season three of "Fargo," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Gaffigan joins a cast that already includes Ewan McGregor, Carrie Coons and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. He'll play Donny Mashman, a police deputy.

Here's what we know about the next season of the Emmy Award-winning adaptation of the classic Coen brothers film:

It will revolve around "the parking lot king of Minnesota"

McGregor will play two characters on the show: A pair of lookalike brothers named Ray and Emmit Stussy.

Emmit is a real estate mogul who hit it big with parking lots, while his younger brother, Ray, works as a parole officer and harbors some resentment over his brother's success.

It will take place in St. Cloud and Eden Valley, Minn.

The season is set around the year 2010. While seasons one and two shared a few characters, it is unclear what the connections to season three will be.

"Accent watch" will be on high alert

Of the cast members that have been announced so far, Gaffigan has the closest connections to Minnesota. He was born in Illinois, so he's at least Midwestern.

You'll have to wait

Filming will likely take place later this year, and the show won't premiere until spring of 2017 or later.
