As construction season wraps up, weekend road woes ease up

Our patience has finally paid off. Many of the 246 construction projects that were underway this summer are wrapping up in the Twin Cities metro area, which should mean fewer closures and traffic-induced headaches.

Brace for the final stretch and check out the few weekend road woes still hanging on before winter driving takes over as the No. 1 commuter complaint.

Highway 100 in St. Louis Park

While the project is almost complete, Hwy. 100 is down to two lanes in each direction between Minnetonka Boulevard and 36th Street in St. Louis Park. Even after other work is complete, the ramp from southbound Hwy. 100 to 50th Street and Vernon Avenue will be closed until mid-December.

Hwy. 169 between Golden Valley, Eden Prairie

Project work on Hwy. 169 between Golden Valley and Eden Prairie will begin in January. It will include replacing the Hwy. 169 bridge in Hopkins, improving pedestrian accessibility and 6 miles of pavement.
