David Rubenstein speaks about the founding principles of America, and what they mean today. The members of the Constitutional Convention didn't trust the voters to pick the President and the Senate. Two hundred amendments were originally proposed, but fewer than a dozen were adopted. You'll hear some founding philosophy this hour.

Philanthropist David Rubenstein is co-CEO of the Carlyle Group. Jeffrey Rosen, president and CEO of the National Constitution Center, is the moderator. Recorded at the Aspen Ideas Festival in Aspen, Colorado on July 2, 2016.
