Police in St. Peter say deer hunters found a missing 12-year-old girl alive Saturday afternoon in the Minnesota River.
The hunters found Mya Ann Arriaga standing in chest deep water holding onto a tree, about four miles north of St. Peter.
Rescue boats were sent to the location, she was transported to shore along Highway 169, and then flown to the hospital. There has been no word on her condition.
The girl went missing early Friday morning. Before the river rescue, she was last seen crossing a highway bridge over the Minnesota River Friday morning. Overnight temperatures in the area dropped to about 30 degrees.
