St. Paul police investigate death in Hamline-Midway area

A man died in St. Paul Sunday night after an assault was reported at an apartment building in the city's Hamline-Midway neighborhood.

Police were called to the 500 block of Aldine Street North at about 8 p.m. Officers arriving at the scene found an injured man, who paramedics later pronounced dead.

St. Paul police have detained what they describe as a "person of interest." The police department announced on Monday afternoon that they'd arrested a 37-year-old St. Paul man for murder in the case.

The victim's identity has also not been released. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner is expected to release his name and cause of death.
