Traffic was snarled north of St. Paul on Thursday morning after a semitractor-trailer crashed in the commons area of Interstate 35E and Interstate 694.
Minnesota Department of Transportation spokesperson Kevin Gutknecht said the truck rolled over about 3 a.m. Diesel spilled onto the roadway during the crash.
The right three lanes of southbound I-35E near Little Canada were closed for much of the morning as workers set the truck upright and cleared the scene. The ramp to westbound I-694 was also closed for part of the morning.
Only the right lane of I-35E was closed as of 8 a.m., but traffic was backed up on the road. Clearing the roadway was expected to take until about 10 a.m., Gutknecht said.
