What Trump's election reveals about Minnesota's rural economy

President-elect Donald Trump's success among rural voters has drawn attention to the struggles of rural areas across the country, according to the Pew Research Center.

Three guests joined MPR News reporter Marianne Combs for a look at Minnesota's rural economy. They considered where jobs are being lost, where jobs are being created, and what can be done to increase the vitality of the state's small towns and little-populated areas.

Aaron Brown, journalist and author of "Overburden: Modern Life on the Iron Range," Larry Cuffe Jr., mayor of Virginia, Minn., and Ben Winchester, senior research fellow at the Extension Center for Community Vitality at the University of Minnesota joined the program.
