Racist, anti-Semitic graffiti found in Lakeville South High School

The Lakeville school district says a student will face discipline for putting racist and anti-Semitic graffiti on bathroom stalls at Lakeville South High School.

Photos posted to social media show a swastika and a crude depiction of a lynching written or scratched on doors. The photos also contain obscenities and the words, "Hail the Ku Klux Klan."

Lynnae Linnell's son is a junior at the school in the south Twin Cities metro, and sent her pictures of the graffiti Monday. Linnell said her son is biracial.

"He shouldn't have to see or experience anything when he's going to school trying to have an education," Linnell said.

The district says it'll use the incident as a "teachable moment," and maintenance workers are repairing the damage.

"We take these matters seriously and strive to create a safe, welcoming environment for all students in our schools," said the statement posted on the Lakeville Area Public Schools website.
