MPR's Phil Picardi spoke with University of Minnesota climatologist Mark Seeley about the meteorological winter that just ended. It went from Dec. 1 of last year to March 1 earlier this week.

The winter was warmer and wetter than normal, which continues a trend over the last decade. He also tells us about what "average temperature" really means in Minnesota. Here's a hint: temperatures on a given day in the state rarely hit average.
