An author asks: What's wrong with the Democratic party?
Author Thomas Frank spoke with MPR News host Kerri Miller about his new book, "Listen, Liberal." In the book Frank says Democrats have done little to move the needle on their core ideals: expanding opportunity, working for social justice and working class Americans.
Frank asserts that the Democrats have done nothing more than bail out Wall Street, keep wages low and get the U.S. into bad trade deals, exactly what the Republicans accuse them of doing.
He thinks it's time the liberals listen up, if they want to win back the base they need to actually make change.
