Missing boater in Washington County found alive

A man missing after a boat crash on the St. Croix River near Bayport has turned up alive.
The Washington County Sheriff's Department identified the man as 36-year-old Jason Elgersma of Minneapolis.
The department said Elgersma was found on Monday.
Elgersma and a passenger, identified as 35-year-old Kristin Erickson of Minneapolis, were on the boat when it started to take on water about 3 a.m. Sunday. Erickson made it to shore. Elgersma was nowhere to be found.
Sheriff's authorities say efforts are underway to retrieve the boat from the river.
