Regardless of what happens on a national scale for climate change, cities are starting to deal with the practical effects of extreme weather, heat, and floods.

Many cities around the country are already beginning to deal with the practical effects of climate change. MPR Chief meteorologist Paul Huttner spoke with environmental reporter Elizabeth Dunbar about how city planners are adjusting to the increase in rainfall. Then he spoke with Minneapolis Sustainability Program coordinator Kelly Muellman and Varun Sivaram, who is the acting director of the Program on Energy Security and Climate Change for the Council on Foreign Relations.
