Legendary rock band U2 is coming to Minneapolis late this summer.

The band on Tuesday morning announced a Sept. 8 show at U.S. Bank Stadium. Tickets go on sale Monday. Presales start Thursday for certain groups.

U2 is commemorating the 30th anniversary of its landmark "Joshua Tree" album, with a 33-stop, nine-country tour. The band played two shows in Chicago last weekend.

The last time U2 came to Minnesota was July 23, 2011, in one of the final stops of the U2360d tour. Minnesota wasn't on the band's 2015 U2IE tour itinerary.
