The state Capitol will be abuzz with all sorts of activities this weekend to celebrate completion of the $310 million restoration.

Visitors can hear live music, take guided tours and listen to panel discussions about the building, which was designed by famed architect Cass Gilbert.

The project has restored the Capitol to how it looked when it first opened in 1905.

MPR News political reporter Brian Bakst has worked in that building for nearly 20 years. This week, host Cathy Wurzer took a tour of the renovation beginning with some of the exterior spaces.
