Today's Morning Edition music is from "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles, which was No. 1 on the Billboard pop chart 50 years ago.

The song was the band's contribution to "Our World," the first worldwide television broadcast. The program, which went out live on June 25, 1967, included an appearance by Pablo Picasso, a rehearsal of "Romeo and Juliet," plus shots of Spanish fishermen and Japanese construction workers.

The Beatles were in a London recording studio. They sang along to a prerecorded backing track and were surrounded by a group of celebrities including Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton and Keith Moon.
