In a post on the Alexandria Police Department Facebook page, Chief Richard Wyffels wrote that the girl was being treated for minor injuries at the Douglas County Hospital.

Wyffels said three people have been arrested in connection with the teen's disappearance. He declined to release their names, adding that doing so could jeopardize the investigation. He also requested privacy for Block's family.

More information is expected to be released Wednesday.

Editor's note: Several hours after this story was posted Wednesday, authorities said the girl had been sexually assaulted. MPR News generally does not name victims of sexual assault and so is no longer naming the girl.
