Girl struck by vehicle outside Grand Forks school, injured

A girl was taken to a Grand Forks hospital with unknown injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk outside an elementary school.

Police say the girl was walking with a parent shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday. The driver of the vehicle swerved to avoid the parent but struck the child.

The girl's age and condition weren't released.

The 22-year-old driver was cited for care required.
