DJ Ali Elabbady is "super amped" for Ness Nite's album release party for her debut "Dream Girl." Elabbady says Nite mixes R&B vibes with pop hooks, but her ethereal music is all her own. The show gets underway at 9 p.m. Friday, March 23, at First Ave in Minneapolis.

Dancer Theresa Madaus is going to try to take in as much of "Relay Relay" as she can this weekend. It's a marathon event of artists interviewing other artists working in dance, music, theater and performance art. More than 20 artists will be interviewed at Red Eye Theater in Minneapolis; the event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Author Lucie Amundsen says it seems fitting that as spring arrives in Duluth, the city is awash in poetry readings. She's particularly interested in a double-hitter at Karpeles Manuscript Museum from 2 to 4 p.m. this Saturday. Pushcart Prize nominee Norita Dittberner-Jax reads from "Crossing the Waters" and Duluth Poet Laureate Deborah Cooper shares poems from "Blue Window." Each meditates on bodies of water (the Mississippi and Lake Superior) as she contemplates impermanence and loss.
