Mistrust of American media is growing.

Inside the MPR Newsroom, we understand that all of the conversations around fake news, bias, leaks and anonymous sources can be confusing.

In the spirit of full transparency, MPR News host Kerri Miller, invited MPR's executive director for news and programming, Nancy Cassutt, onto the show to take audience questions about MPR News' editorial process.

They talked about how we make our coverage decisions, what it's like to report on our own organization, and our code of ethics.

Cassutt joined the news department in early 2016. She was formerly the managing director of content initiatives.
