Weekend shootings leave four dead in Minneapolis

Minneapolis police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead and one person injured Sunday morning. Officials say the incident happened on the city's north side along the 2600 block of Emerson Avenue. It took place around 9:45 a.m.

Since Friday night a total of four people have died in separate shootings in Minneapolis.

Minneapolis police don't believe this latest shooting is connected to the others.

"One happened down toward (the) south, downtown area. The other three occurred in north Minneapolis, but not close to one another. I'm not seeing anything that's connecting them,"according to police spokesman John Elder.

Elder says one person has been taken into custody in the Sunday shooting. But no arrests have been made in connection with the other shootings.
