Closures on I-35W, lane reductions throughout metro area this weekend
As if the chance of rain and possibly snow this weekend isn't enough, we'll also see a few major road closures in the Twin Cities metro area.
To avoid any headaches while driving this weekend, here's what you need to know.

Beginning 10 p.m. Friday, Interstate 35W is closed both directions between Highway 62 and Interstate 94 through 5 a.m. Monday. Here's a map for a detour.
Interstate 35 North metro split from Lino Lakes to Forest Lake
Lane closures on Interstate 35 in both directions between Highway 97 and a mile south of the I-35W and I-35E split through mid-May. Northbound I-35 will be reduced to two lanes from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and southbound will be reduced to two lanes from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Highway 55, Minneapolis to Rockford
Eastbound Minnesota Highway 55 is reduced to one lane between Theodore Wirth Parkway and Thomas Avenue North from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Saturday. A one-lane reduction will also be in effect between Schaper Drive and Theodore Wirth Parkway through 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Westbound Minnesota Highway 55 will be reduced to one lane between Theodore Wirth Parkway and Dahlberg Drive through 5 a.m. Wednesday.
The right turn lane on eastbound Highway 55 at Meadow Lane is closed through 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Beginning Friday morning, the left lane of Highway 55 in both directions will be closed between Revere Lane North and Glenwood Avenue through 3 p.m. Friday.
Interstate 494, Inver Grove Heights and South St. Paul
Beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, the ramp from Hardman Avenue to westbound Interstate 494 is closed until 5 a.m. Monday.
Minnesota Highway 77, Eagan
The southbound Highway 77 exit ramp to Cliff Road and the Cliff Road entrance ramp to northbound Highway 77 are closed and detoured through early May.
Highway 41, Shakopee to Chaska
Minnesota Highway 41 may close between Highway 169 and Chaska Boulevard at the Minnesota River. Crews are monitoring the water levels and will close the highway if needed.
