Morning Edition gets a fresh theme on Monday

At the beginning of every hour on Morning Edition, we tell you about the big stories that are coming up, plus a little history and a birthday or two. We call that the billboard, and in recent years, the music that accompanies it has been a tune by BJ Leiderman.

National Public Radio has decided that it's time to update the regular musical elements you hear during Morning Edition, including the billboard music. Starting on Monday, the show will have a new sound. The new billboard theme, which incorporates some of Leiderman's original composition, was created by an outfit called Man Made Music.
