The nation recognizes Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20th. We hear a portion of King's "Beyond Vietnam" speech from April 4th, 1967, at Riverside Church in New York. Also, we hear Gov. Tim Pawlenty discuss education issues, potential policy changes, and budget cuts during his speech before the Minnesota School Boards Association. He spoke on Thursday, Jan. 16th. Pawlenty also acknowledged that the secret was out that Minnesota's next education commissioner is Cheri Pierson Yecke, a federal education official and former secretary of education for the state of Virginia.
