Jessica Mador covered the Twin Cities as a member of the MPR News metro reporting team. She joined MPR News in 2007, moving to Minnesota from New York, where she got her start in journalism. Before discovering a love for public radio and launching a career in the radio news business, Jessica did a wide variety of other jobs, including a stint in public television documentaries, films and news. She worked in the commercial film industry and in New York politics and government. She also held down a long list of bartending, waitressing, truck driving and other very odd jobs over the years. All of this diverse experience comes in handy in the daily hunt for good stories. Jessica feels lucky to be able to make a living making radio.
