No travel advised in Cook County after heavy rains cause flooding

No travel is advised on roads in northeastern Minnesota's Cook County.

Heavy rains have flooded some roads. The county's emergency manager is recommending people don't drive in the county until crews are able to evaluate flooding and clear debris from roads.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says three areas of state Highway 61 are flooded over and covered with debris. Those areas are five miles south of the Cook/Lake county line, the Lutsen area, and an area just east of Grand Marais.

Grand Marais resident Stephan Hoglund says he awoke this morning to find the streets flooded.
