Special search software helps locate missing man

Hundreds of volunteers, in addition to search dogs, planes, helicopters and ATVs, helped authorities search for Keith Kennedy, a 25-year old autistic man who was lost for one week in the Wisconsin woods.

Throughout the process, software developed in Minnesota kept track of the search and ultimately helped predict where Kennedy might be.

Rick Slatin created the software called Search Tracker. He is a lieutenant with the St. Louis County Sheriff's office, which was one of many teams called in to help with the search across the border in Wisconsin.
