Over 4.5 million Americans can claim some Norwegain descent, according to the Norwegian Embassy in the U.S. That's greater than the population of Norway.

Minnesota tops the list of states with Norwegian Americans. Estimates put the total at 850,000, or 20 percent of the population. Eric Dregni is one of them and, like many here in the state, he grew up in a family aware of its Norwegian ancestry. They even celebrated it from time to time.

Back in 2003, Dregni took it one, big step further. He and his wife went to live in Trondheim, Norway for a year. While they were there, they had a son. Dregni has written about that experience in the land of his Great-Grandfather. Dregni talked with Tom Crann about his new book, 'In Cod We Trust: Living the Norwegian Dream.'
