More than $96 million in funding has been announced for over 3,000 affordable housing units across Minnesota.

The funding was announced late last week by Minnesota Housing. That's a state agency that helps finance affordable housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income families.

The money will go toward financing new housing and preserving existing housing, as well as toward foreclosure-remediation efforts.
