Klobuchar open house for Minnesotans in D.C.
Minnesotans are invited to the Washington D.C. offices of Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., today for an inauguration open house.
Barack Obama will not take the oath of office until tomorrow, but Washington will be bustling with inauguration week activity today.
Klobuchar is hosting a day-long open house for Minnesotans in Washington today.
She said the food was specially selected with a Minnesota theme in mind.
On the menu? "tater tot" hot dish and, "Spam puffs from Austin, so that's going to be good, the whole Fergus Falls marching band who's going to be in the parade is coming to our open house so it should be a wild thing," Klobuchar said.
This evening Klobuchar and her husband will attend a special dinner hosted by the President-elect to honor Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., whom Obama defeated last year for president.
The open house runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday at the Washington D.C. offices of Sen. Klobuchar: 302 Hart Senate Office Building Washington, D.C.
