(AP) - Vikings great Carl Eller has been convicted of two gross misdemeanors in his clash with Minneapolis police officers in April.

A Hennepin County district judge announced the ruling from the bench Monday. Eller's attorney, Albert Goins, says he won't comment until reading the written ruling.

The 67-year-old Eller was convicted of one count of assault on a Minneapolis police officer and one count of refusal to submit to a field sobriety test.

Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 23.

Two more serious charges against Eller were dropped earlier this month in a deal with prosecutors.

Two police officers say Eller attacked and threatened them after they tried to pull him over April 9 for suspected drunken driving.
