FDA withdrawing painkiller drug after 50 years of prescription

The commonly-prescribed pain killer Darvon will soon be off the market. This is after an FDA panel voted to withdraw the drug. Doctors wrote 21 million prescriptions for it in 2007. The FDA took the step after hundreds of accidental deaths linked to the drug.

Dr. Jon Hallberg stopped by to talk more on the ban of the painkiller Darvon, which has been commonly prescribed for 50 years.
