Ramsey County homeless shelter filling faster

As the economy continues to take its toll, one Ramsey County homeless shelter has begun turning families away for lack of space.

Margaret Lovejoy is the executive director of the Family Place in downtown St. Paul. She says it's "quite often" that the shelter has to turn people away.

She says it's difficult for staff to have to say the shelter's full, but there's not much they can do as the homelessness problem gets worse.

Carla Sizemore and her two children are among those who found shelter at the Family Place. She says she knows what it's like to live on the streets, and she was lucky to have that resource.

Sizemore has since found a job and moved home, but not everyone has been as fortunate.
