St. Paul Cinco de Mayo festival unmarred by gangs
Police say there were no apparent violations of a temporary injunction banning 10 alleged gang members from taking part in gang-related activities during St. Paul's Cinco de Mayo festival.
Ramsey County Judge Gregg Johnson granted most of what the city of St. Paul sought in a new tactic to crack down on gang activity.
The injunction didn't prevent the 10 people from attending last weekend's festival, but it barred them from associating with other gang members, intimidating others, using gang signs or wearing gang clothing.
Sgt. Kevin Moore, a gang investigator who was working during Cinco, says the festival "went off without a hitch," with no major incidents reported.

Organizers say attendance at this year's festival could top last year's. This year's festival may have drawn more than 100,000 people.
