Freeze warning issued for northern Minnesota

It might be the first week of June, but it's still going to get cold in northern Minnesota.

The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for late Tuesday night to Wednesday morning for Koochiching, Itasca, Lake, Cook and parts of St. Louis Counties.

The weather service says a freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are highly likely. Crops and other senstive vegetation will probably die in those conditions.

It's also issued a frost advisory for the Brainerd lakes region, the Twin Ports area, Pine County and northwestern Wisconsin.

A frost advisory means that frost is possible, and sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.
