Americans sweep Grandma's Marathon
Minnesota native Christoper Raabe won today's Grandma's Marathon in Duluth.
He's the first American to win the men's race in 14 years. Raabe ran his fastest career time to finish in an unofficial 2 hours, 15 minutes, 14 seconds to win the race by about 3 minutes.
Raebe now lives in Washington, DC and today's race is his first major victory. He is a native of Sauk Rapids, Minn.
Mary Akor, also an American, won the women's race with a time of 2 hours, 36 minutes and 51 seconds.
The last Minnesotan to win the men's marathon was Rush City's Dick Beardsley in 1982. The last time Americans swept both races was in 1994.
