Fergus Falls band invited to U of M homecoming

The Fergus Falls high school marching band made such good impression performing at President Barack Obama's inauguration that it's got a prestigious new gig.

It's been invited to march in the Minnesota Gophers homecoming parade on Oct. 9 in Minneapolis. It will be the first high school band to perform in one of the university's homecoming parades.

The invitation from the U of M says that school officials watched Fergus Falls in the inauguration parade.

The band will also attend a pep fest and fireworks show, but they won't be able to go to the game itself because it's sold out.
