Man charged in St. Paul shooting, robberies

Prosecutors on Friday filed charges against a 20-year-old St. Paul man in two robbery incidents, one of which resulted in another man being shot.

Marcell Doushawn Estes was charged with robbery and attempted robbery in the incidents Saturday and Monday. Both happened not far from the State Capitol.

Estes was also charged with assault and illegal possession of a firearm for allegedly trying to rob a man at gunpoint on Monday. Authorities said the victim offered Estes his cell phone but had no money. Estes allegedly shot the man in the abdomen and forearm.

In the incident Saturday, Estes is accused of robbing a man at gunpoint.
